image used for my front cover
For my final product i used this image of my band 'The Sizzlers'. I decided to use this image as the clothes are very well represented by the low angle looking up at them allowing you to see smaller details such as the shoes they wear and how this represents their rock music with the scruffy, retro look. The low angle used also makes the band look superior as it is looking up at them making them seem powerful. I thought this image worked as the fact they are not looking directly at the camera makes them appear mysterious therefore making the readers want to buy the magazine so they can read the article to find out more about them.
flatplan of front cover
For my front cover i followed the usual forms and conventions of a music magazine with one main image to attract the attention of the audience. I think this works well as an image of a band/artist represents the type of genre and therefore target audience you are trying to atract. I have decided i will place one other smaller image to display a particular article or features page. The title will be at the top left hand corner which i got the inspiration for off of magazines such as NME and Q. The name of the article will be on top of the main image but not enough to distract you from the image. I will use the house colours for the text to create brand identity and to make it easy for my aundience to identify it as ECSTASY magazine- the title of my magazine.
